10 am to 11 am | Funding Your Business – The Essentials You Need Before You Apply For A Loan | Location: University Center, Red River

The goal of this workshop is to prepare you to get the funding that you need to grow and expand your business. You will leave the workshop with an understanding of what banks and investors are looking for when providing capital to small businesses.

10 am to 11 am | Introduction to Stocks | Location: Sam Mahrouq Financial Markets Lab, College of Business

This is your first step in understanding the world of stock markets and how we can invest in them. You will also be introduced to using a Bloomberg terminal.

11 am to 12 pm | How to become a Successful Entrepreneur! | Location: University Center, Red River

The workshop will help to understand process of starting and managing a new business venture with the aim of creating value or making a profit. 

11 am to 12 pm | Webinar on Banking Basics for College Students | Location: University Center, Concho

Discover what you need to know for developing money skills that last a lifetime with this how-to workshop for college students.

The participants will learn what the credit score is, it’s important and how to read a credit score. They’ll also learn the tools and strategies to maintain a healthy credit score and repair bad credit.

 

10 am to 11 am | Introduction to Stocks | Location: Sam Mahrouq Financial Markets Lab, College of Business

This is your first step in understanding the world of stock markets and how we can invest in them. You will also be introduced to using a Bloomberg terminal.

11 am to 12 pm | Buying a Home | Location: University Center, Red River

The participants will learn the home buying process, including mortgages, additional costs of homeownership and calculating debt to income.

Using credit wisely will help you to establish a positive payment history and will favorably affect both the availability and cost of future credit, including car loans, mortgages, credit cards, and personal loans. Your credit standing can also affect your insurance cost, employment opportunities, and housing options.

It’s a fun and interactive way to learn about budgeting. You’ll be given real-life adult scenarios where you need to make decisions about food, housing, transportation, clothing, and more without busting your budget.
